Despite the dreadful weather forecast, the afternoon stayed perfectly dry for the duration of the competition.
Our grateful thanks must go to Marjory Love for organising this, the more complex of all our competitions and ensuring that our afternoon went smoothly and without any hitch.
After a lengthy calculation (the scores of all 36 competitors had to be entered individually, resulting in two winners with the same overall, positive score. To separate these two contenders, the next step was to check who had won the most ends – again both contenders were equal. Finally, the next step to check who had the highest score at any single end provided us with a winner). Marjory announced the result to the eagerly waiting members: Congratulations to the Runner-up – Gillian Creighton and to the winner – Dennis Taylor.
The afternoon was a great success. Thank you to all those members who turned up to take part and support our Club.
