Now most of our readers already play bowls, so why would you need to know about the new initiative being adopted by the club this May?
Well, Brookfield Bowling Club has agreed with Bowls Scotland to take part in a programme aimed at introducing potential new members to the sport. The idea is to offer a slightly longer and more supported introduction to lawn bowls than a single open day can provide.
Now, if you are already a keen bowler, but you know you could improve, we’ll have more for you later.
Most importantly, if you know someone — young or old — who might like to try lawn bowls, this is the perfect opportunity to point them in our direction.
From Sunday afternoon, 3rd May, we’ll be offering free, friendly coaching designed to help anyone interested get involved and have a go. These sessions will run every Sunday throughout May, giving newcomers time to build confidence and discover that bowls can be fun, competitive and absorbing.
A poster is attached to this post. Please take a look and share it with anyone who might be interested. Even better,
encourage them and offer to bring them along — a familiar face can make the first step much easier.
