What a fantastic afternoon on the green yesterday! The club was buzzing with activity as we welcomed around 15 guests, alongside a similar number of members who came along to support our coaching team. With so many people taking part, there was a wonderful atmosphere throughout the session.

Even more encouraging was the fact that around eight of our visitors were joining us for the very first time. After chatting with several of them afterwards, it was clear they had thoroughly enjoyed the experience and were already gaining confidence on the green.

Our Head Coach and Past President, Mary, said she was delighted with the progress everyone was making. She was also especially pleased with the number of members who turned out to help support the session — and, of course, to provide those all-important cups of tea and slices of cake! 🍰☕

One young visitor even told us she was “definitely coming back because the cakes were so good!” While that may not have been exactly what we intended, we do believe the warm and friendly atmosphere created by our members is a big part of what makes the club so welcoming for anyone thinking of taking up bowls.

Just a reminder that Try Bowls will continue for the rest of May — that’s three more Sunday afternoons still to come!
