What a day for the Brookfield Gala — the crowds were out in force, and our Bowling Club once again did its very best to support the village by organising and delivering the ever‑popular Tombola Stall, now with an expanding gifts and toys section. We’re sure the stall was bigger than last year, and it certainly performed. It must have been one of the most visited attractions of the afternoon.
Thanks to everyone’s hard work, the Tombola raised over £1,400.
A very big thank you goes to all members who collected gift donations — and got thoroughly soaked on Monday night doing so; to those who numbered the prizes and folded the mountain of raffle tickets; to those who moved everything from the hall to the park and organised the stall layout; and, last but by no means least, to everyone who served on the stall throughout Saturday afternoon. A tremendous team effort, given freely, and it truly made the stall a success.
Equally important is a heartfelt thank you to everyone in and around the village who donated such a wonderful variety of gifts. Your generosity helped attract so many visitors and contributed hugely to the day’s success.
